Projects
Things I build, write, and contribute to, focused on learning, systems, and real-world application.
Outside of flying, I focus on projects that explore how people learn, think, and perform. Some are technical. Some are creative. All are connected by the same underlying interest: making complex things clearer, more practical, and more human.
Aero's Amazing Adventures: The Netherlands
A children's book designed to introduce young readers to culture, geography, and curiosity through storytelling.
This project draws directly from a background in pedagogy, translating complex ideas into something simple, engaging, and accessible.
A different medium, but the same core principle: helping people understand the world more clearly.
Aviation Tools
I'm interested in how technology can improve how pilots learn, operate, and make decisions. These are focused on real use in real environments, not theoretical.
Rest Time Checker
Upload a duty schedule in UTC and verify legal rest status anywhere in the world. Includes automatic record-keeping for compliance.
Learn MoreAI Flight Log Reader
Upload a photo of a flight log and receive a complete digital record with automatic night time calculations and data extraction.
Learn MoreCockpit Essentials
A curated list of items actually used in the cockpit: practical tools and smart upgrades for professional pilots.
Learn MoreEarlier Work: Technology and Entrepreneurship
Before aviation, I founded aFrogleap BV in 2008, a mobile app and design agency based in Amsterdam.
Over nearly a decade, the company grew to a team of 45, working with clients ranging from early-stage startups to private equity-backed and publicly traded organizations. The focus was on building digital products that were not only functional, but intuitive and well-designed, combining technical execution with a strong understanding of user experience.
- Voted the number one agency in the Netherlands three years in a row
- Worked closely with private equity partners and institutional stakeholders
- Scaled through multiple stages of growth and increasing complexity
- Acquired by Merkle (a dentsu company) in 2018
That experience shaped how I think about systems and scalability, decision-making under pressure, team dynamics, and building structures that hold up in real-world conditions. It continues to influence how I operate today.
These projects may look different on the surface.
They all come back to the same question:
How do people understand, operate, and perform better in the real world?
